The woman that I love is someone's wife.

Today she settling into married life.

But I remember how it was

When time hung like humidity

and we made love on steamy summer nights.

I watched them leave the church from my truck.

I drank a pint of vodka to their luck.

Afterward I wanted to leave town

Turn around and drive away

So far I wouldn't hear if it burned down.

Damn this town.

It's got me down.

Nothing sucks the life out of you

Like a little town.

Damn this town.

I ain't hanging round.

Gonna find me a great big city,

Gonna move downtown.

There's a Wal-mart coming in down the road.

Folks act like we hit the motherlode.

I watched then as they bulldozed the site.

I dedicate the parking lot

in memory of one hot Georgia night.

Damn this town.

It's got me down.

Nothing sucks the life out of you

Like a little town.

Damn this town.

I ain't hanging round.

Gonna find me a great big city,

Gonna move downtown.

Damn this town. Damn this town. Damn this town.
